The pedagogy is aimed at developing fundamentals and inculcating clarity of concepts. Audio-visual tools are used to enrich the learning experience at the Department. In order to orient the students mindset to real life applications, emphasis is given on lectures, seminars, visits to industry and special emphasis is laid on project work. Lectures by experts from industry and academia are organized at regular basis. We put an extra effort to develop the skill of presentation in all our students, for that to prepare the PowerPoint slides and to address the class is the routine at our learning center. Here the students are encouraged to organize various events and actively participate in the Department’s activities. This allows them to appreciate the unstructured situations and resource constraints, which they will inevitably face in their future careers.

Over the last decade, the industry that has been able to surprise people in terms of growth is the Information Technology Industry India too, has not been far behind as far as “Software Development” or InfoTech growth is concerned. With the government's reforms policy started in 1991, the entire InfoTech market has seen a quantum leap. This has created job opportunities for computer-savvy individuals like never before. The information technology (IT) sector in India is expected to attain a double-digit growth in the financial year starting from April 2010. After the slowdown during the last couple of years, the IT industry is gearing up. Technology companies have begun to hire again. NASSCOM has projected
that some 30,000-40,000 students will be absorbed by IT companies this fiscal. Talking to Economic Times, Nasscom president Som Mittal said: “Typically, we take one to two lakh people annually into our industry. In the current fiscal, we had made offerings to 80,000 fresh graduates, of which we are expecting that some 30,000-40,000 will join.”

Mckinsey & Company in its report on the perspective of the IT industry by 2020 has given the current pace of reforms and expected constraints in talent and infrastructure supply, the exports component of the Indian IT industry is expected to reach $175 billion in revenues by 2020.
